Andre Perry

Andre M. Perry is a Senior Fellow at Brookings Metro, Director of the Brookings Center for Community Uplift, and a professor of economics at Washington University. A nationally recognized expert on race, structural inequality, and education, Perry is the author of Know Your Price: Valuing Black Lives and Property in America’s Black Cities. He is a frequent commentator on MSNBC and contributor to major media outlets, including The New York Times and CNN. Perry’s research focuses on economic inclusion and the devaluation of assets in Black communities, and his work has influenced policymakers, civil rights groups, and community leaders nationwide.
